捉黃腳雞 badger game

(成語) 意思是桃色敲詐, 色情敲詐。

(Idiom) Literally, it means “To catch a yellow-legged chicken”. “to catch someone (usually male) in a trap or ‘set up’ in which he is blackmailed by the female and/or her accomplice posing as her husband, boyfriend etc.

“This idiom has its origin in a village from Canton (Guangdong) province. While hens accounted for a vast majority of chickens farmers bred, a little amount of rooster was bred. Rooster was always sacrificed in worship. A way to catch roosters was to firstly scatter grains over the ground, attracting hens to peck at the grains. The presence of hens enticed roosters to mate with hens. While they were mating, roosters failed to be vigilant. It was the best moment for catching them, simply by taking hold of the roosters’ legs. Roosters are easily identified because their legs are darker in yellow than those of hens. ‘To catch a yellow-legged chicken’ is then used to mean ‘a trap in which a woman has enticed a man to have sex with her so that he will be blackmailed’.” Translated for the source above:
