Jack of all trades

Updated: Nov 5, 2023

Jack of all trades

The Cantonese slang is either positive or derogative in sense, depending on its context.

"Someone who can do many different jobs" Cambridge Dictionary

Her husband is a jack-of-all trades, doing a lot of DIY at home.

'屎坑關刀, 無樣利' which is similar in meaning to 'jack-of-all trades, master of none' in

English.

Cambridge Dictionary refers 'jack-of-all trades, master of none' to "said about someone

who is able to do many things, but is not an expert"

Tom is a jack of all trades, but master of none. It may be the reason why he has not

been promoted to manager yet.
